preserve-corridor-preserve system. Compared to one side of the square preserves, the centrally
placed corridor was 10% its height and 20% its length. Trials V and v had all 172 founders
placed in a square in the left preserve, while trials W and w had founders divided into two
squares, one placed in each preserve. Each individual in all trials has 30 loci, each with the
same number of distinct alleles. A single allelic array for trials with uppercase symbols (V
and W) has 21 unique alleles in the source population as described in the text. Trials v and w
use the usual array of 100 distinct alleles, each with a frequency = 0.01.
