Chapter 20
Energy
STEP 6
I have an acquaintance who practices a method of energetic healing called Quantum
Touch. She has helped me, my dad, and even my dog with various health issues. She did
this by manipulating our energy, over the phone, from thousands of miles away. It's the
kind of thing you have to experience to believe, so if you're skeptical, I understand. The
topic of energy is much misunderstood and just the word “energy” can make some of us a
little bit suspicious and even defensive.
Take biological transmutation as an example. For at least 200 years, we've known that
microbes, and even plants and animals, can combine certain elements together to form oth-
er elements, such as combining sodium and oxygen to form potassium, or potassium and
hydrogen to form calcium. French scientist Louis Kervran was nominated for a Nobel Prize
for his work on the subject, and U.S. Army Scientists have also verified the phenomenon.
This information is still considered controversial, and is largely ignored by science. I
mentioned it once to a friend who was studying chemistry, and she said it was impossible,
that the energy required to complete such a feat would be too vast. That's what the text-
books say about it. My goal here is not to convince you of this, nor do I claim to under-
stand how it all works, but if you're interested, check out Kervran's topic, Biological
Transmutations .
I just want to point it out, because the main implication I see for us is that we want to
promote a healthy, diverse soil food web, and hope the right microbes and plants are in
there to transmute certain elements that are lacking in our system. Heide Hermary of Gaia
College points out it's yet another reason to look to the native plant communities in our re-
gion when we're designing our gardens and use not just one or two of these native species,
but a whole selection of plants that naturally grow together because those plants may be
transmuting nutrients for each other.
