In-Depth Information
Summary
• All organisms in the garden need water, which is why drip irrigation is generally
inappropriate for our purposes.
• Everyone should collect rainwater in cisterns and ponds. Best of all, though to soak
up water is to have a soil with lots of organic matter and vegetation, including
multi-level plantings where possible.
• Water with anything that deeply wets the entire soil, adjusting it based on the soil
texture, infiltration rate and organic matter content, and keep that mulch layer
moist.
