After reviewing the computer science and technology literature, the students and co-
ordinators reconsidered the goals set by the students and made changes as needed. Coordin-
ators advised participants to continue the research study and review the tool used to carry
out the research along with the goals at each contact. The coordinators made an appoint-
ment for a follow-up phone call in two weeks, usually at the same day and time as the ini-
tial face-to-face consultation. The coordinators asked the students whether they would like
their information included in a research project conducted by the coordinators for use in
developing the program and reporting to the city authorities. If students responded posit-
ively, coordinators asked them to read and sign the consent form.
