Objective Complete - Mini Debriefing
We separated the render process into renderlayers by associaing one or more layers of
the scene ( Layer butons grid) with a given renderlayer. The passes secion determines
which of the diferent kinds of calculaions the render engine performs we want available as
separate slots in the RenderLayer composiing nodes, when choosing a speciic renderlayer.
Acivaing the four layers in the Scene butons grid is necessary, since the renderlayers are
going to need to pick one or more of the layers selected there; it's like a two-step filtering:
The Scene butons grid decides which layers from the scene to feed into the render engine,
while the Layer butons grid picks from those layers the ones that will be used by a speciic
renderlayer.
Mission Accomplished
And that's it! Our finished scene was created by modeling a mother ship and a space
ighter, adding a bit of work in the shaders for the space ighter, then creaing a background
composed of a planet and a nebula background for which we did a bit of work with a paricle
system and the compositor. The final touches for the scene were done by adding the energy
shield and performing the final composite on the full scene.
