9. Using the same method, let's also create the brake light patch, which can be
illed quite easily by just creaing two faces inside, separated by a verical edge
(front view).
To close this part of the project, let's talk about another method of creaing sharp
corners when the Subdivision Surface modiier is acing on a mesh.
There is an opion for each edge of the mesh that causes the subdivided mesh to
sick to the edge with the opion acivated, it's called "crease". By default, each edge
has a crease value of 0, but by increasing it we get a nice behavior of the subdivided
mesh, which is closely following the shape of the edge with a crease value of 1. The
crease opion is another way of geing sharp corners on the mesh. Let's apply it,
check how it looks, and then decide which of the two methods for this paricular
purpose can beter it this paricular model. The crease property is located in the
Properties sidebar ( View → Properties ), at the botom of the Transform panel.
10. Given the complexity of describing the mesh in words, let's take a look at the
following screenshot, highlighing the edges that must be selected in order to
increase their crease value to 1:
