When
mongodump
is running, you should see it output something that looks like the following:
$ mongodump

If your output doesn't look very similar to this, you should double-check that your environment matches up with
the assumptions stated previously.
If you do see the correct output, then your database has been backed up to the
testmongobackup/dump
directory.
The following snippet restores your database to its state at the time you performed the backup:
$> cd ~/testmongobackup
$> mongorestore --drop
connected to: 127.0.0.1
