In-Depth Information
Worth a Trip
Northeast of the centre is Hangar Bicocca ( 02 853 531 764; www.hangarbicocca.it ; Via
Chiese 2; 11am-7pm Tue, Wed & Fri-Sun, 2.30-10pm Thu; Sesto Marelli) in a former Pirelli in-
dustrial site. Its temporary shows are worth a look, but the big attraction is a perman-
ent installation by Anselm Kiefer. The seven concrete-and-lead towers of The Seven
Heavenly Palaces are a teetering 15m tall and invoke the the abject destruction of
postwar Europe.
