The Duomo
Milan's pearly-white Duomo ( Click here ), covered in a pantheon of marble saints,
is the third-largest in the world. A gift from Gian Galeazzo Visconti, who started
works in 1386, its centuries-long creation maps much of the history of Milan.
Biblioteca Ambrosiana
Blazing an intellectual trail out of the Middle Ages, Cardinal Federico Borromeo
founded one of Italy's greatest libraries, the Biblioteca Ambrosiana ( Click here ) ,
