Call on the walkie-talkie. Need to dress in some more 'construction' on a projection screen for an
outdoor cinema that Bob is building.
Another call to extend a set as the camera can see the edge of the set.
Work on the lighthouse lens that fi ts into the top of the lighthouse.
Cleared a set that has been shot. This will be reused for another scene. It could be used many times,
each time redressed as a new scenario.
Call on the walkie-talkie. Need mud splatter put onto a toy dragon that is in the back of a trailer on the
set. More Plasticine. Will be dressed ready for the morning.
A fairly typical day, and another one tomorrow. Never boring.
Gilbert and Sullivan - The Very Models
A patriotic image from Gilbert and Sullivan with Carte's bed at the heart of
everything.
This i lm's set needed to segue smoothly from D'Oyly Carte in bed to scenes from
the operas. I had intended to design a solid bedroom for Carte, but the budget
made me more daring and imaginative, forcing me to focus the attention on the
bed in which Carte is 'lying awake with a dismal headache, and repose is tabooed
