It's a given that I prefer to work with puppets, and I structure the i lm around their strengths
and abilities, but puppets are not the only way to go with stop motion. Most of us enjoy stop
motion because we like touching something, but there are many dif erent techniques, each
one af ecting the narrative and how you i lm.
Replacement puppets
Mostly my i lms have been about beautifully articulated puppets, and I'm not sure the i lms would
have worked in another technique. I have never warmed to replacing rigid puppets with puppets
