mechanical preparation required to achieve a satisfactorily flat sample
for testing. Further investigations on this issue of surface preparation
are necessary. The technique is also very surface sensitive with a
fine polished surface a prerequisite. In addition, the inhomogeneous
and anisotropic nature of these viscoelastic materials add further
complications which to date have barely been addressed.
