we retained the values of
H
and tan
in our results to avoid
misunderstanding that our plots are standard stress-strain curves.
However, using the same method, the
H
-tan
curves enable comparison
between different materials and are indicative of stress-strain behaviour.
With this method, enamel as well as a wide variety of dental materials
were tested and compared. Some interesting results were found.
As shown in
Fig. 8-4
, enamel from directions both parallel and
perpendicular to the rod axis showed smooth stress-strain curves without
