Housekeeping made easy
While the list of steps above may be completed manually, you should use the tools provided
by SAP for help in automating the process. With BW 7.0 SP 32 or higher, a housekeeping
list can be generated to guide you through the BW cleanup process. A sample SAP BW
Housekeeping checklist is shown in Figure 4.3.

The SAP_BW_HOUSEKEEPING task list can be created and updated at intervals during
the cleanup process. The task list will be updated to reflect your cleanup efforts each time it
is refreshed. The items in the checklist include:
1.
Clear all OLAP cache parameters
2.
Delete aggregate data via deactivation
3.
Delete BW statistical data
4.
Delete RSTT traces
5.
Reorganize and delete bookmark IDs and view IDs
6.
Delete entries that are no longer required in the RSIXW table
7.
Check BW metadata with regard to the DDIC
8.
Verify DataSource segments' assignment to PSA
9.
Ensure request consistencies throughout the PSA landscape
