4.1.9
Remove data in unused DSOs, InfoCubes, and staging
You should remove data in unused InfoCubes, DSOs, and files used for staging in this
step. You should also consider reorganizing attributes and master data text using transaction
code RSPC. The table RSBATCHDATA can also become very large if not properly man-
aged, so you should remove unused background information stored in this table.
4.1.10
Archive IDocs, clean tRFC queues, and background information
A remote function call (RFC) extends the CALL FUNCTION of the ABAP language to
a distributed environment by adding a destination to the statement. A transaction remote
function call (tRFC) can run as a background task, and the receiving system does not have
to be available when a tRFC is executed. Instead, if the receiving system is not available,
the tRFC will remain in a local queue and wait for the system to become available.
An Intermediate Document (IDoc) is an electronic message that contains data about a busi-
ness transaction in one system and carries that information to another system. To further
limit the size of the SAP HANA system, clean the transactional remote function call (tRFC)
queues and archive the IDocs.
4.1.11
Delete unwanted master data
Any master data that is not needed can be deleted in this step. Any SAP BW system after
service pack 23 of BW 7.0 allows direct deletion of unwanted master data.

SAP Note 1370848 contains more information about best practices
for deleting unwanted master data.
