Data flow conversion
SAP has provided a data flow conversion tool as part of the SAP BW Migration Cockpit
for SAP HANA. As part of the data flow conversion, the tool creates a copy of the older
BW 3.x data flows, and then converts the copy. This means that your old data flows remain
intact while you test the migration, and they can be deleted once the testing process is com-
plete.

InfoCube fact table compression
While you can no longer partition InfoCube fact tables after they have been converted, four
partitions will still exist behind the scenes. One is used for uncompressed requests, and an-
other is used for compressed requests. The third partition is used for reference points for
inventory data, and the fourth is used for historical data about inventory movements. The
third and fourth partitions will be empty if non-cumulative key figures are not used, but
the first two partitions will need compression periodically to decrease the amount of space
they require and increase their load times. This compression should require very little time,
even for very large InfoCubes, because the compression is performed as a stored procedure
in HANA.
