Scale out
Scale-out systems are created by linking several nodes together over at least a 10 GB net-
work. The primary benefit of scale-out systems is that by linking several nodes together,
you can create large SAP HANA systems with hundreds of CPU cores, vast amounts of
RAM for the in-memory database, and tens of thousands of users.
BW requirements on scale-out systems
If you are migrating your SAP BW system to a scale-out system,
SAP recommends a master node with a minimum of 1 TB and at
least two slave nodes and a standby node for a four-node appliance.
