The early watch report
The number of active concurrent users and named users is the
primary factor to consider when determining the number of pro-
cessors needed for BW on HANA, so it is very important to have ac-
curate information when making this decision. The early watch re-
port from the current BW implementation will provide the informa-
tion needed to make this decision.
2.3.2
Rule-of-thumb sizing
The rule-of-thumb approach to BW on HANA sizing provides a simple set of guidelines
for determining the hardware needed for the DMO migration. It is important to remember
that this approach to sizing is still not as accurate as the SAP BW on HANA automated siz-
ing tool, but the rule-of-thumb method will provide a more accurate assessment of system
needs than the T-shirt method.
