Source BW preparation
Next, prepare the source BW system for the DMO process. Use the following tasks as a
guideline for developing a BW preparation task list for the source system.
1.
Identify operating system upgrade and patch requirements.
2.
Upgrade and patch the operating systems.
3.
Identify relational database management system (RDBMS) upgrade and patch re-
quirements.
4.
Upgrade and patch the RDBMS.
5.
Identify kernel upgrade and patch requirements.
6.
Upgrade SAP kernel to 720_REL patch 110 or higher (note that 7.20_EXT does
not work with Oracle 11. Use 7.20).
7.
Identify SPAM upgrade and patch requirements.
8.
Update SPAM to version 51 or higher for SAP NetWeaver 7.01.
9.
Upgrade BR*Tools to latest version.
10.
Request and/or download software and support packages.
11.
Unpack and FTP software and support packages to server file system.
12.
Apply support packages ST-PI 2008_1_710 SP7 to the BW system.
13.
Request SAP Note application approval from the environment architect.
14.
Implement SAP Note 1909597 (ZBW_HANA_ MIGRATION_COCKPIT).
15.
Execute ZBW_HANA_MIGRATION_COCKPIT.
16.
Implement updated sizing program from SAP Note 1736976.
17.
Execute HANA sizing program (precleansing) /SDF/HANA_BW_SIZING.
18.
Analyze HANA sizing program results.
