Map BW users to HANA
In order to be able to use the combined analysis capabilities of SAP BW and HANA, you
will need to map your existing BW users to corresponding HANA users. To do so, use
transaction code DBCO to create a connection with the SAP<SID> of the HANA database.
Then, assign this connection in the user DBMS system view with transaction code SM30.
The connection needs to be assigned in table USR_DBMS_SYSTEM. Once you have as-
signed the connection in the user DMBS system, you can use transaction code SU01 to
assign the connection to a user.
You can use program RSUSR_DBMS_USERS to both create and map BW users to the
HANA DBMS. If the BW user does not already exist in the HANA DBMS, a new user will
be automatically created with the existing BW user name. You can also assign and remove
roles for users in the HANA system from this program.
Check the notes!
SAP Note 1927767 has more details about mass management of
DBMS users with program RSUSR_DBMS_USERS.
6.2.8
Creating external HANA views
As of BW 7.40 SP09, you can use transaction codes RS2HANA_CHECK and
RS2HANA_ADMIN to generate SAP HANA views from existing InfoObjects. You should
use the check program first to validate the settings for creating the models. Once you are
satisfied that these settings are correct, use the admin program to create the views. After
you have created the external HANA views, be sure to use transaction code RSRV to check
the views for inconsistencies.
