Figure 6.4: Missing SAP Notes
As mentioned before, if you have to exit SUM to implement these notes, you should be
able to resume the process after the last successful phase.
6.1.7
Configuration parameters
After the extraction phase of SUM for DMO has finished, you can modify the parameters
which will be used during the next phases of the process. Since these parameters will be
heavily dependent on the system resources that are available in your source SAP BW sys-
tem, we cannot provide the specific parameters which will work best with your system. In
general, you should start with the default configuration during your first migration effort in
your sandbox environment, and then modify the parameters during migration of the other
environments based on your system performance in each previous migration.
Although we cannot provide you with a baseline for your system, we recommend that you
choose D O NOT START ABAP LOAD GENERATION during the update for the E XECUTION
MODE . In general, ABAP load generation requires a lot of CPU resources, so choosing to
disable this will minimize the load on the CPU during the migration.
During the configuration phase of SUM for DMO, you will be prompted to create pass-
words for the new user DBACOCKPIT, as well as the new user for the system schema.
