To add the third new column, click

. This column will provide unique key values for all
of the rows in the table. The new key values will be generated by the SCD Type 2

Click the row number on the far left for the row CUSTOMER_GEN_KEY and drag
the column up to position number one. The columns of the dimension table are
now configured for slowly changing dimensions, as shown in the following display.

Follow these steps to designate the generated column as the primary key for the
dimension table:

In the properties window for the CUSTOMER_SCD table, click the
Keys
tab.
