There is a record of a large party going by horse-drawn brake to Rhossili in June 1890. In 1893 Colonel
Morgan, a leading member of the Scientific Society, led a team which excavated a prehistoric tomb on
PenmaenBurrows.Numerouswomenwereinvolvedandasearlyas1889therewere18femalemembers.
