Table 6.4 summarizes the experimental results. On the sphere function in-
termediate recombination is much better than dominant recombination. SAR
and iSAR are as good as intermediate recombination, dSAR even slightly worse
than dominant recombination. On rastrigin SAR and also iSAR are slightly, but
not significantly better than intermediate recombination, see the next Wilcoxon
rank-sum test. Intermediate recombination reaches the optimum in 9 of the 25
runs, SAR and iSAR each find the optimum in 10 runs. Dominant and dSAR
