Finally, site-usage statistics show that 10% of participants used the IA during the
2008-2009 school year.
Fall 2008
In the Fall of 2008, participants moved through the material over a period of
2 weeks, as decided by the instructor of the class that they were taking. Again,
participants came from a variety of professions and were seeking a graduate level
degree.
As shown in Table 15.6, survey results showed a moderate to significant gain
in the four areas reported. By the end of the workshop cycle, participants showed
strong effect sizes in experience creating online lessons ( d
=
0.71) and using online
resources in the classroom ( d
0.55). There was a strong effect size in participants'
self-reports about being able to use technology in a classroom setting ( d
=
0.87)
and a moderate effect size in their abilities to teach effectively with technology in
the classroom ( d
=
0.51).
Finally, site-usage statistics show that 21%, of participants used the IA in the
Spring semester of 2009, the most recent semester usage statistics are available at
this writing.
