An analysis of this circuit shows that the V-I characteristic of this modified cell
is composed of a positive term and a negative term of hyperbolic sine functions
which results in the reduction of the non-linear terms. The same authors have
proposed a new schematic of a CCCII [
18
] using this formulation (shown in
Fig.
16.2
) which has been verified to offer better linearity as compared to the
traditional four transistor mixed- translinear-cell.
In another application involving two-CCCII-based instrumentation amplifier
[
18
] this circuit has performed better (in terms of linearity and increased input
voltage range) than the circuit based upon four transistor mixed- translinear-cell.
An interesting problem appears to be the investigation of the use of this new
eight transistor cell in the realization of other varieties of CCs.
