See white-tailed deer on the fringes of the woodlands while hearing songbirds hidden in the trees. Skirt
the edges of baseball diamonds and soccer fields, and strangely enough, at times, you'll seem almost
alone in this 986-acre park, San Antonio's largest and most popular. The trail is wheelchair accessible.

Finding the trailhead: In San Antonio, from I-410, drive 3.2 miles on US 281 to Bit-
ters Road. Turn east onto Bitters Road and go to the junction with Starcrest. Turn left
onto Starcrest and continue to Jones-Maltsberger Road. Turn left onto
Jones-Maltsberger and proceed 1 mile to the park entrance on the right, at 13102
