Bamberger Nature Park: Ex-
ercise Loop and Leon Creek
Loop
This very small park offers two completely different walking experiences by combining the Exercise
Loop and the Leon Creek Loop. The 0.4-mile paved, flat Exercise Loop provides a warm-up for the
slightly longer Leon Creek trail. The Leon Creek Loop goes through the woods, and sections of it bor-
der the creek. The hike is suitable for families with young children.
Distance: 1.1-mile loop
Approximate hiking time: 1 hour
Difficulty: Easy due to some paved and most shaded trails
Trail surface: Concrete on Exercise trail; stone and rock on the Leon Creek Loop
Best seasons: Year-round

Finding the trailhead: From northwest San Antonio, take I-410 west to the Babcock
Road exit. Exit and follow Babcock Road 7 miles north to 12901 Babcock Rd. Turn into
