Comanche Lookout Park:
Loop and Lookout Tower
Trails
The 92-acre Comanche Lookout Park has a wealth of history. The Loop Trail has been combined with
the Comanche Lookout Tower Trail to explore the most interesting sections of the park. The four-story
medieval-style stone tower sitting on top of the 1,340-foot-high hill is the high point of the hike. Por-
tions of the paved trail are wheelchair and stroller accessible.
Distance: 1.7-mile double loop
Approximate hiking time: 1.5 hours
Difficulty: Moderate due to fairly long grades up

Finding the trailhead: From northeast of downtown, take I-410 east to Judson Road.
Exit at Judson Road and proceed north for 2 miles to Nacogdoches Road. Turn right
(east) onto Nacogdoches Road and proceed 0.5 mile to 15551 Nacogdoches Road. Turn
