fl
uxes,

flux gradient method), atmospheric CO 2 -concentrations and air temperatures for 5
days in August and September are shown. The
flux chambers (on a dry position in
the wetland), being 20 m apart, showed very similar
fl
fl
flux quantities and a clear
diurnal pattern. The CO 2 -
flux gradient technique, orig-
inated from dry as well as from wet regions. It shows similar quantities to the
fl
uxes, as measured by the
fl
ux
chamber data, but a very different diurnal pattern indicating different (dominating)
ecosystem processes in different parts of the wetland, such as photosynthesis, res-
piration or decomposition. Atmospheric CO 2 -concentrations showed clear concen-
tration buildup at night, indicating the presence of a nocturnal boundary layer
(NBL). Additional NBL-height measurements would make boundary layer budget
calculations possible, complementing the
fl
fl
flux gradient technique during stable night
