Attend any Azuero festival and you will see Panamanian
típico
(folkloric music) alive
and thriving. In

the accordion is dominant. It's well represented by Dorindo Cárde-
nas, the late Victorio Vergara (whose band lives on as Nenito Vargas y los Plumas
Negras) and the popular brother-sister pair of Sammy and Sandra Sandoval.
