Getting There & Away
The Carretera Nacional becomes Av Laureano Lopez at the northern edge of town and
re-emerges as the road to Santo Domingo on the southeastern side of town. From Las
Tablas' bus terminal (cnr Avs Laureano Lopez & Dr Emilio Castro) buses run hourly to Santo
Domingo (US$0.35, 10 minutes), Cañas (US$3, 1½ hours), Chitré (US$1.50, 30
minutes), Tonosí (US$3, 1½ hours) and Pedasí (US$2.40, one hour).
There are 10 daily departures to Panama City (US$10, 4½ hours), with additional
buses during festivals.
