Conclusion
A number of conclusions stand out clearly from the analysis presented in
this topic.
First, since the current energy system, which results in massive CO 2
emissions and high dependency on oil supplies, is not sustainable, it is
essential to initiate a transition.
The measures to be taken are urgent, while substitution of fossil
energies by alternative, non-CO 2 -emitting energies will take time.
It is absolutely vital to rapidly implement a set of means specifically
adapted to the transition period ahead.
Four action points have been identified:
