Geography Reference
In-Depth Information
This contribution was written with a fundamental sympathy for the perception of
economic geography as an evolutionary science. The concept of co-evolution seems to
me to describe a particularly challenging programme for economic geography, which
can lead to a better understanding of the dynamics of technical and spatial-economic
development. This concept is laden with pre-conditions. It was the aim of this chapter to
make this clear.
Acknowledgement
I wish to express my thanks to Johannes Glückler for comments on an earlier draft of the
chapter, and Ron Boschma on a later version. I am indebted to Edel Sheridan-Quantz
for professionally translating this text, addressing quite a complex matter.
