In Chapter 5, the emergence of 'lifestyle farming' in response to countryside
consumption in peripheral rural areas is explored, demonstrating the development of an
'unseen' niche which has emerged without the overt protection of supportive actors (Pinto-
Correia et al .a, this volume). Chapter 6 provides insights into the role of collaboration in
transition processes (Schiller et al ., this volume). Chapter 7 explores the emergence of
'high nature value' farming, contrasting processes of niche anchoring between 'top-down'
and 'bottom-up' initiatives (Peneva et al ., this volume). Transitions relating to public goods
from the agricultural sector, particularly water quality, are addressed in Chapter 8 (Vlahos
and Schiller, this volume). In Chapter 9, analysis of on-farm renewable energy production
demonstrates how technologies developed in the agricultural sector have been 'translated'
in response to changing landscape pressures on the energy regime (Sutherland et al. b, this
volume). The assessment of alternative agri-food networks in Chapter 10 demonstrates the
varying sources of innovation, and forms of resistance adopted by regime actors to niche
