Peat Inn MODERN SCOTTISH/FRENCH The Peat Inn (which dates to
1760) came under new ownership in 2006. Luckily, it was taken over by Chef Geof-
frey Smeddle, who earned a Michelin star in 2010. Meals highlight local, seasonal
ingredients in dishes such as seared scallops with fennel purée, roast filet of beef
with chanterelle mushrooms, or tayberry and elderflower tart. The Peat Inn, about
10km (6 miles) from St. Andrews, has eight overnight suites.

The Seafood Restaurant FISH/SEAFOOD This St. Andrew's restaurant is a
second branch for owner Tim Butler and his business partner, chef Craig Millar, who
began farther down the coast in St. Monans. Here, the location on the seafront is
spectacular, and given the restaurant is essentially housed in a glass box, there is no
missing the views. Dishes range from crab risotto to pan-seared scallops, with plenty
of fancy accompaniments on the side.

The Wee Restaurant MODERN SCOTTISH As the name implies this is a
small place (room for 34 diners in total) but it has an ever-growing reputation. Chef
and owner Craig Wood has made his restaurant a spot worth heading for: whether
for fresh seafood dishes or robust meals using local ingredients from the land.
