7. Click the Draw Normal button ( ) at the bottom of the Tools panel, and choose Select
> Deselect. Choose File > Save.
Using the Eraser tool
The Eraser tool ( ) lets you erase any area of your vector artwork, regardless of the
structure. You can use the Eraser tool on paths, compound paths, paths inside Live Paint
groups, and clipping paths.
1. With the Selection tool ( ), double-click the green rectangle (inside of the circle)
behind the house. This enters Isolation mode and lets you edit the shapes in the circle.
Click once more on the green rectangle to select it.
By selecting the green rectangle, you'll erase only that shape and nothing else. If you
leave all objects deselected, you can erase any object that the tool touches, across all
layers.
2. Select the Eraser tool ( ) in the Tools panel. With the pointer on the artboard, press
and hold the Right Bracket key (]) for a second or two to increase the diameter of the
eraser. If you make it too large, you can press the Left Bracket key ([) to make it
smaller.
3. Position the pointer in the upper-left corner of the green rectangle—beyond the left
edge of the circle. Click and drag from left to right, along the very top edge of the
rectangle, moving the pointer up and down slightly to create hills (see the figure).
When you release the mouse button, the path remains closed (the erased ends are
joined).
