MacGregor Park
This tree-sheltered hike is located near the University of Houston. Particularly interesting is a group of
old cedar trees, slanting at a nearly 45-degree angle. Within the park's 100 acres—donated by the
MacGregor family in 1925—jumping off points are provided for several miles of hikes along Brays
Bayou and lead to Memorial Park.

Finding the trailhead: From downtown Houston take I-45 to the Spur 5 exit (exit
44B) and turn right onto Spur 5. Drive 1 mile and make a slight right turn onto Wheeler
Street. Turn left onto Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Then turn right onto Calhoun
Road and turn into the MacGregor Park parking area at 5225 Calhoun Rd. The trail is
