Terry Hershey Park: Cardinal
and Blue Jay Loop Trails
This hike is for nature enthusiasts and dog walkers, with dog drinking fountains located along the trail.
Depending on the season, wildflowers and blooming shrubs line the sides of the bayou and many spe-
cies of trees and birds can be seen. Be sure to visit the walk-in sundial, where the shadow you cast
shows the time. This lighted path can be enjoyed in the evening.
Distance: 2.3-mile loop
Approximate hiking time: 1.5 hours
Difficulty: Easy; flat terrain and paved path
Trail surface: Asphalt, concrete
Best season: Year-round

Finding the trailhead: From the junction of I-10 West and US 90, go 15.8 miles west
on US 90. Take exit 753A and drive 0.7 mile to Eldridge Parkway. Turn right onto Me-
morial Drive. Turn right after 0.3 mile into Terry Hershey Park at 15200 Memorial Dr.
