While the analysis underlying Figures 5.15 and 5.16a,b,c are necessarily
acoustic, solving the classical Helmholtz equation, we have also designed fast
computational methods to evaluate siren pressure fields to support hydraulic
erosion analysis (drilling mud convects fine sand particles which are abrasive)
and also torque characteristics that are important in rotationally reciprocating the
siren quickly. Example computed results are shown in Figures 5.17a,b.
