Figure 90
shows the result of using a layer mask to isolate the red truck. As we
continue to paint on the mask, we can continue to improve the selection until we
have exactly the amount of the image that we wish to see. By constantly flip-
ping Black and White for the Foreground Color, it is easy to add and subtract
from the selection until we have the exact selection that we want.
The result is identical whether we started with a black mask or a white mask. In
this case, the desired result was achieved much faster by choosing
Hide All
, since we only
had a small area to paint.
Note that the layer mask also indicates the position of the truck on the layer.
