With the
Magnetic Lasso Tool
you must click on your exact starting point to end the se-
lection. So, choose a starting point where you can easily identify the small squares that are
spaced out along the selection line.
The process is the same for the

but the end result is much better —

. It took about 4 minutes to select
the object and clean up the selection for the techniques of

Earlier in the book, I said that technique is everything. In this example, we used four dif-
ferent techniques to do the same thing, but one was much faster and more accurate than the
other three. This does not mean we should always use that technique. The

is by far the fastest way to make the flower selection in
Figure 44
. With experience,
you will know when to use each technique.
