On the right side, the screen turns black, but likewise you will see details develop as you
move the slider toward the center. Some people use this technique to determine how far to
move the sliders. They generally recommend only moving them until you see the first in-
dications of the image. Personally, I consider this a judgment call with the
Alt
key merely
providing feedback.
