As you can see in
Figure 14.4
, the Lasersaur BOM is divided by North American and
European suppliers. It is also clearly marked by version, maintaining a list of older system
BOMs for reference. This is helpful for previous systems still in use, enabling their own-
ers to source or repair parts of the system. In addition, once you select a BOM, you can
view it by supplier or by subsystem, again making ordering and building a lot less painful
than if everything was listed without a source organization.
