At the time this topic was written, SparkFun had the most comprehensive product
pages to document its open source hardware ( Figure 14.3 ). Icons at the top near the
product title graphically describe a number of things, including Restriction of Hazardous
Substances (RoHS) compliance, Fritzing libraries, 3D modeling designs, open source
hardware, and so on. A description, notes (including whether a royalty is given back to
original designers), dimensions, a feature set, the source files, and source code are listed
under documents, and versions of the product follow. At the time this topic was written,
SparkFun was also the only website that had an “Open Hardware” category that allowed
consumers to see at a glance which products are open source and choose to shop that way.
