Unfortunately, the design used a sensor that became obsolete, with only a limited sup-
ply being available, after we manufactured our bare circuit boards. Our production was
delayed by several days as I scoured distributor websites around the globe searching for
available parts. I managed to find just enough components to complete our production run
and get the product to Google on time. Things could have been much worse. Had I not
found enough parts, we would have had to throw out thousands of dollars of circuit boards
and the entire project would have been killed by the missed deadline, probably resulting in
a lawsuit.
