location where you would like the model moved to, click the left mouse button to confirm
the grab move. You can also click the right mouse button to cancel the grab move.
Another useful tool is the scale tool. With the logo model selected, press the S key.
Now, when you move the mouse, the model will shrink and expand. The X, Y, and Z keys
can also be used with the scale tool. In this case, pressing one of those keys will set which
axis to expand the model. For our purposes, press the Z key so the model will scale only
in the z axis. Move the mouse cursor upward until the logo model is about twice as tall as
the original height. Click the left mouse button to confirm the scale change.
Although this function will not be needed in this exercise, pressing the R key allows
you to rotate your model in all three axes or in a selected axis or axes.
Now that you have used the basic tools to move and resize a model. we can make some
edits to the Beaglebone Black case.
Cutting a Shape
With the Open Hardware logo still in place, go through the Import menu to locate and im-
port the Beaglebone Black case file. When the model appears, notice that it overlaps the
logo model, as shown in Figure 8.4 . This is okay: We know how to move the models. We
will use the Open Hardware logo to cut away part of the case lid. To do so, we first need to
move the logo model to the place where we want the logo cut out of the case lid.
