Funicular & Cable-Car
There are two funiculars (
funıküleri
) and two cable-cars (
teleferic
) in the city.
An antique funicular called the Tünel carries passengers between Karaköy, at the base
of the Galata Bridge (Galata Köprüsü), to Tünel Meydanı, the southwestern end of İstiklal
Caddesi. A fare costs 1.40.
The second funicular carries passengers from Kabataş - at the end of the tramline - to
Taksim Meydanı in Taksim, where it connects to the metro. It runs every day between
6.10am and 12.50am and a fare costs 2.
