Services from İstanbul to cities within Turkey were also severely curtailed, largely due
to an extensive upgrade to the rail link between it and Ankara. When this line reopens in
2014, it will feature high-speed trains that will depart from a new railway hub in Üsküdar,
on the Asian shore.
