or designer Emel Güntaş is one of İstanbul's style icons, and this recently opened shop in
Tophane is a favourite destination for the city's design mavens. The stock includes cush-
ions (including a new range by fashion designer Rifat Özbek), carpets, kilims (pileless
woven rugs), silk scarves, woollen shawls, porcelain and felt crafts. Everything here is
artisan-made and absolutely gorgeous. Her next-door store, Hiç, specialises in furniture.

with its lofty ceiling, chandeliers and always-arresting window display is one of the most
beautiful on Serdar-ı Ekrem Sokak. Her collections are characterised by ultra-feminine
designs, whimsical touches and delicate fabrics.
